
10 Vacancies Open at Tandahimba The Executive Director of Tandahimba District Council has received approval for new employment under Ref. No. FA. 97/288/01/A/25 dated 29 April 2025. The approval includes two (2) positions for Office Management Secretary Grade II and eight (8) positions for Driver Grade II from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance.
Therefore, the Executive Director invites all Tanzanians with the required qualifications and interest in working at Tandahimba District Council to apply for the following vacancies:
OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS
Responsibilities:
- Typing letters, reports, and both routine and confidential documents
- Receiving visitors, handling their issues, and directing them appropriately
- Maintaining records of appointments, meetings, travel, and schedules for the supervisor
- Locating files and documents needed for task execution
- Receiving and distributing files to respective departments/units
- Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to relevant places
- Preparing agendas and organizing various meetings
- Preparing lists of office supply requirements
Qualifications:
Applicants must be Form Four or Form Six graduates with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. Additionally, they must have passed shorthand in both Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from a government-recognized institution.
Salary level is TGS C1.
DRIVER GRADE II – 8 POSITIONS
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety
- Driving staff to various work destinations
- Performing minor vehicle repairs
- Collecting and delivering various documents
- Recording and keeping a log of all trips in the vehicle logbook
- Cleaning the vehicle
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor
- Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned by the employer
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Form Four certificate and a valid Class E or C driving license, with at least one year of accident-free driving experience. They must also possess a driving certificate from VETA or any other government-recognized training institution.
Salary level is TGS B1.

- Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, or NACTE).
- Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have approval from the Chief Secretary.
- Applicants currently employed in entry-level government positions should not apply and must follow guidelines in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
- Submission of false information or forged documents will result in legal action.
- Driver II applicants with Class E or C licenses must attach training certificates that qualified them for such licenses.
