331 Vacancies Open at Judiciary Service Commission (JSC)

331 Vacancies Open at Judiciary Service Commission (JSC) is a body established under Article 112(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Furthermore, Article 113 of the Constitution and the Judiciary Administration Act (Cap 237) empower the Commission with various responsibilities, including the recruitment of staff for the Judiciary of Tanzania across different cadres.

Therefore, the Judiciary Service Commission invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for the following job vacancies, willing to work in various regions and districts under the Judiciary of Tanzania:

1. Resident Magistrate II – TJS II

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV or VI).
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania.
  • Candidates with computer training certificates will be given priority.

Duties:

  • Prepare and hear preliminary civil and criminal cases.
  • Hear family and inheritance matters.
  • Prepare and deliver judgments.
  • Issue lawful judicial orders.
  • Resolve legal disputes.
  • Hear appeals from Ward Tribunals.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice.
  • Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor.

2. Human Resource Officer II – TGS D

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Arts with a major in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Sociology
    • Public Administration
    • Manpower Planning
  • Computer literacy required.

Duties:

  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Interpret and implement staffing structures.
  • Analyze and plan training needs.
  • Collect and manage HR statistics and records.
  • Handle daily staff matters.

3. Accounts Assistant II – TGS B

Qualifications:

  • Basic Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Accountancy or ATEC I from NBAA.

Duties:

  • Maintain accounting registers.
  • Keep financial records.
  • Deliver accounting documents to the bank.
  • Manage payment files and documents.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

4. Computer Operator II – TGS C

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Computer Studies from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field.

Duties:

  • Operate and manage complex computer systems.
  • Update work schedules in computer rooms.
  • Maintain computer usage logs.
  • Backup and store digital data.
  • Print final reports.

5. Assistant Computer Operator – TGS B

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV or VI).
  • One-year basic computer training covering:
    • Basic Operations
    • Operating Systems
    • Application Programs
  • OR Technician Certificate in Computer Studies.

Duties:

  • Analyze and digitize hardcopy information.
  • Enter data into IT systems.
  • Run and monitor software programs.
  • Generate hard and soft copy reports.
  • Archive digital entries and logs.

6. Librarian II – TGS D

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Duties:

  • Schedule and supervise library staff.
  • Guide library assistants.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the library.
  • Perform other assigned library duties.

7. Library Assistant II – TGS B

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV).
  • National Library Assistant Certificate or its equivalent.

Duties:

  • Register readers.
  • Arrange books on shelves.
  • Issue and receive borrowed books.
  • Repair damaged books.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.

8. Cook – TGS C

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV).
  • One-year Certificate in Food Production from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field.

Duties:

  • Clean the kitchen.
  • Prepare regular meals.
  • Prepare various dishes.
  • Ensure kitchen utensils are clean.

9. Records Assistant II – TGS C

Qualifications:

  • Form IV or VI certificate.
  • Diploma or NTA Level 6 in Records Management or Law.
  • Computer literacy required.

Duties:

  • Register incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Distribute and track files.
  • Maintain file archives.
  • Court-specific:
    • Receive case-related documents.
    • Prepare summons.
    • Maintain court case schedules and files.

10. Executive Office Management Officer II – TGS D

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Secretarial Studies.
  • 120 wpm shorthand in English and Kiswahili.
  • Computer literacy required.

Duties:

  • Recommend office supply needs.
  • Record and maintain event schedules and appointments.
  • Follow up on instructions from supervisors.
  • Organize meeting preparations.

11. Office Management Secretary II – TGS C

Qualifications:

  • Form IV or VI certificate.
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate.
  • 100 wpm shorthand in English and Kiswahili.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Duties:

  • Type documents and reports.
  • Receive and direct visitors.
  • Maintain office schedules and appointments.
  • Retrieve and organize files.
  • Distribute files and correspondence.
  • Prepare for meetings and take minutes.
  • Maintain office supplies.

12. Driver II – TGS B

Qualifications:

  • Form IV certificate.
  • Valid Class E or C1 driving license with at least 1 year of accident-free experience.
  • Basic Driving Course certificate from VETA or other recognized institution.
  • Preference for holders of Technical Grade II Certificate.

Duties:

  • Inspect vehicle before and after trips.
  • Transport staff for official duties.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Deliver and collect documents.
  • Maintain trip logbook.
  • Clean vehicle.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

13. Security Guard – TGOS A

Qualifications:

  • Form IV certificate.
  • Completed National Service or Militia training with certification.

Duties:

  • Verify exit permits for office items.
  • Ensure all incoming goods have documentation.
  • Guard buildings and property day and night.
  • Ensure secure closure of doors/windows.
  • Monitor and approve guest entries.
  • Respond to emergencies like fire or floods.
  • Advise on improving security services.

14. Office Assistant – TGOS A

Qualifications:

  • Form IV certificate with good performance in English, Kiswahili, and Mathematics.

Duties:

  • Clean offices and surroundings.
  • Deliver files and documents.
  • Distribute office mail.
  • Prepare office tea.
  • Collect and deliver mail from the Post Office.
  • Maintain orderliness of office equipment.
  • Open and close office doors/windows.
  • Operate duplicating machines.
  • File documents and maintain office records.
  • Take care of office equipment.
